Living on my own now for quite a few years I grew to love my own space and learnt to deal with the ups but also the downs of life without a partner, but with fabulous friends and kids. So I was happy and fulfilled; busy with art, exercising, photography, the editing of photos and of course grandkids. One really important part of my life now for several years is self growth which I am very committed to on a long term basis. I went on a holiday with friends just before lockdown and here out of the blue is this wonderful man. I really didn’t know what hit me, so unexpected, so not really looking for a relationship but he was persistent.
Venturing out into the Woods
Trying to work out where life is taking me I spoke to a very special friend of mine and she sent me this message. . .
‘If you don’t go out in the woods, nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin’
This is a quote from my favourite book of all times – Women Who Run With The Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés. That made me think, maybe I can do this. . .I can take his hand and walk into the woods! And so I started this painting titled ‘Go out in the woods’.

This painting I dedicate to this special man who is still holding my hand all the time and helped me find new ways of enjoying life, new ways of seeing myself and the world (yes, even at this age) and I am so glad I decided to listen to life’s whisper. . .‘If you don’t go out in the woods, nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin.’
I hope you enjoy the painting and my story. Life is a journey. Grab it with both hands!
